If you’re looking to purchase a new Windows 7 PC now is the time to take action.
In an unusual move, Microsoft has extended the availability of Windows 7 so it will be possible to buy computers with the operating system pre-installed until the end of October 2016.
What’s particularly interesting about this is that it means that you will be able to purchase a Windows 7 PC for longer than Windows 8. Many would take this as an admission of the widespread dislike for Windows 8, but it also offers a lifeline to anyone who wants a new computer without Windows 10.
Microsoft has updated its Windows Life Cycle Fact Sheet to show that the sale of PCs with Windows 7 Professional pre-installed will end on 31 October, 2016. This is a full two years after the sale of Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, and Ultimate PC came to an end, and four months after the 30 June 2016 end of Windows 8 PC sales.
If you’re looking at buying a new Windows 7 PC because you’re hesitant to make the move to Windows 10 you have just over 3 months left to act.
